Destiny Fellowship Church Family,
As many of you are aware, when the carpet was removed from the walls of the gym at Central Elementary in August, the quality of sound went from bearable to unbearable. The deacons and elders, together, have been discussing this topic and praying for a solution. We believe that we must find a new location to hold our Sunday services. An ideal situation would be to have our own building but that has not been attainable due to the cost of commercial real estate in Bemidji. On a positive note, Destiny Fellowship does have $30,000 dollars in a the building fund!
During a combined meeting on October 1st, a temporary solution has been agreed upon by the elder and deacon team. House of Prayer church led by Pastor Mike Knott and their elders have offered us the use of their building. However, we will need to move our service time to 4:30pm on Sunday afternoons. This service time was agreed upon by giving consideration to families with young children.
We believe there to be many positive things to come from this change. First, we will reduce our rental cost from what we are currently paying the school. Our desire is to put the remaining budget amount in the Building Fund. Secondly, it will give us a reprieve from setting up and tearing down on a weekly basis. House of Prayer will, graciously, give us a storage closet to store any equipment we might need; i.e. coffee ministry items or children’s ministry equipment. Thirdly, this move will allow us to periodically have church meals together either before or after the service.
We will also be establishing a Building/Facility search team this month. This team will be asked to give an update one Sunday per month regarding their progress in search for a permanent meeting location for Destiny Fellowship.
We originally wanted to make this move happen in mid October however, we have decided to make this transition occur on Sunday, November 5th. This will allow us time pray and fast for God to either confirm this transition or for Him to provide a miracle and open up another opportunity we never thought was possible. Therefore, Pastor Keith will be leading times of prayer regarding our building situation on Thursday evenings at the church office on October 12th, 19th and 26th at 6:30pm.
Would you consider fasting either from meals, social media, tv, computer, etc and replace that time with prayer regarding a meeting location for a our Sunday services?
